Template:A[edit]

Hello Andy. I'm not entirely sure this is new, but it looks like something has happened to the {{a}} and {{aut}} templates, adding a mysterious extra space after the author names. For example

{{a|Carolus Linnaeus|Linnaeus}}, {{a|Peter Forsskål|Forsskål}} and
{{aut|Linnaeus}}, {{aut|Forsskål}}

which renders as /Book/ /Battlerangers wiki/, /Book/ /Battlerangers wiki/ and /Book/ /Battlerangers wiki/, /Book/ /Battlerangers wiki/ with spacing on both sides of the comma. Do you know what this is all about? Writing to you since you've been editing {{a}} recently – eventough I don't think your edits are to blame, since it's also present in {{aut}} which hasn't been touched since May last year.

Respectfully, Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 18:35, 5 June 2021 (UTC).

Fixed. {{aut}} calls {{a}}, so change to the latter may affect the former. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:43, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
Good work. Thanks! –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 19:30, 5 June 2021 (UTC).

Template:Botanist[edit]

Hello, Template:Botanist seems (at least to me) no longer to be working, in that it does not change the display of "botanist" depending on one's language settings; do you know why? Thank you, Maculosae tegmine lyncis (talk) 10:34, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Script error: No such module "ping". I can see no reason; there have been no recent changes to either the template nor Module:Getlabel on which it depends. Neither have there been any relevant changes to the Wikidata item it uses, d:Q2374149. As it relies on Wikidata, the issue may be transient, so please try again.; after purging the page you're viewing. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:10, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Template:McNamara, 1997[edit]

Hi Andy. This is a very small issue, but I wonder if there is a reason to why you added the same link twice when you created the {{McNamara, 1997}} template? There's one link "page 97" and one link "BHL" but they're both aiming at the same URL. As I said it's not a huge deal, but nonetheless it's a tiny bit misleading and/or inviting confusion. –Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 19:32, 22 June 2021 (UTC).

Script error: No such module "ping". I simply moved the code from another page. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:36, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Okey, thanks. I've cleaned it up a bit. Tommy Kronkvist (talk). 22:03, 22 June 2021 (UTC).

Template for references[edit]

Hello, and Thank you for this (and subsequent) help(s). Small question: Should we systematically create templates for references, such as

This is the Pigsonthewing template.
The tag below does not apply to this page. It must not be removed.

,

This is the Pigsonthewing template.
The tag below does not apply to this page. It must not be removed.

... and eventually convert all references from the author's page to templates? Or only for references actually used on taxon pages (to begin with)? Thank you in advance. AtonX (talk) 19:07, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

Script error: No such module "ping". Ideally all of them, as they should all correspond to items in Wikidata. But as your comment implies, priority is for works cited on more than one page Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:10, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
