This page is for requesting CheckUser information on a wiki with no local CheckUsers (see also requesting checkuser access). Make sure to follow the following instructions, or your request may not be processed in a timely manner.

Before making a request:

  1. Make sure you have a good reason for the check. It will only be accepted to counter vandalism or disruption to Wikimedia wikis. Valid reasons include needing a block of the underlying IP or IP range, disruptive sockpuppetry, vote-stacking, and similar disruption where the technical evidence from running a check would prevent or reduce further disruption.
  2. Be specific in your reasons. Ambiguous or insufficient reasons will cause delays. Explain the disruption and why you believe the accounts are related, ideally using diff links or other evidence.
  3. Make sure there are no local checkusers.
  4. Please ensure that the check hasn't already been done:

How to make a request

How to make a request:

  • Place your request at the bottom of the section, using the template below (see also {{srcu}} help).
    === Username@xx.project ===
    {{CU request
     |status          = <!--don't change this line-->
     |language code   =
     |project shortcut=
     |user name1      =
     |user name2      =
     |user name3      =
    <!-- Max 10 users -->
     |discussion      = [[Example]]<!-- local confirmation link / local policy link -->
     |reason          = Reasons here. ~~~~
    }}

    For example:

    === Example@en.wikipedia ===
    {{CU request
     |status          = <!--don't change this line-->
     |language code   = en
     |project shortcut= w
     |user name1      = Example
     |user name2      = Foo
     |user name3      = Bar
    <!-- Max 10 users -->
     |discussion      = [[:w:en:Example]]<!-- local confirmation link / local policy link -->
     |reason          = Reasons here. ~~~~
    }}

  • Specify the wiki(s) you want to perform the check on.

Requests[edit]

Stopshalon@zh.wikipedia[edit]

Could you please provide some evidence, including diffs, of this pattern that you see. Simply removing speedy deletion templates and editing the same topic area is not enough for a check. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 22:26, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
Script error: No such module "ping". Here are the examples:
  • In the edits of Stopshalon (e.g 1, 2), they wrote like "Character A is the son and the adopted nephew of Character B", "Character B is the mother and the adopted aunt of Character A", and so on. This is a really weird way of writing relationships between characters in Chinese (and I believe even in English): if Character A is already the son of Character B, why would anyone care about their relationship in adoption after Character B's sister adopts Character A?
  • The editing behavior above is commonly and only seen used by long-term abuser Wen Ng Ng (e.g 1, 2). Itcfangye (talk) 14:40, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
    By the way, Reefssump and Rarewing are confirmed socks of Wen Ng Ng. Itcfangye (talk) 14:43, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
  • I added Lookserse to the CU list because they tried to add back abuse edits made by Wen Ng Ng's socks (e.g [1]). Their other edits also share similarity with the LTA. Itcfangye (talk) 02:35, 3 July 2021 (UTC)

All 4 accounts (Stopshalon, Reefssump, Rarewing, and Lookserse) are 20px Confirmed directly back to Wen Ng Ng themselves among several other already blocked socks. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 17:44, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

Script error: No such module "ping". I think it would be helpful if you could list out the checked users for us to verify that there were not unjustified blocks. --LuciferianTalk 12:45, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
The list is quite long and would take some time, plus CU never guarantees that all the socks will be listed by the nature of how CU works. If you still want the list, it'll have to wait till I have some extra free time to sit down and do it. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 02:21, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
I think only those who weren't found from previous CUs would be enough. LuciferianTalk 05:55, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
