Anandsami is an Indian actor working in film and theatre.[1]



Anandsami began his career as an actor when he joined the renowned Tamil theatre group, Koothu-p-pattarai [2][3], Chennai in 2002. He spent eight years training there under the tutelage of Padmashri Na.Muthusamy, performing in several plays during this time. In 2010 he joined Perch, a Chennai-based theatre collective with whom he continues to work till date. He has been a part of several productions including Miss.Meena[4], Under the Mangosteen Tree[5], How to Skin a Giraffee[6] and Jujubee[7], a play for children and a political satire, Vyabaramayanam[8].

More recently, Anandsami along with actors Maya S Krishnan and Ravindra Vijay completed 100 shows of Kira Kozhambu[9],[10] a story telling performance based on folk tales by writer Ki.Rajanarayanan[11][12].

Anandsami is also known for his solo play, Jannal and Seethaimark Seeyakkai Thool where he performs writer Sundara Ramaswamy's short shorties of the same name[13][14]. He was also part of an ensemble cast of actors that performed The Water Station[15], directed by Sankar Venkateswaran of Theatre Roots and Wings at the Kyoto International Performing Arts Festival[16]

In film, Anandsami's most notable role was in Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan's directorial debut Lens[17][18] in which he played Yohan. The movie was released by Director Vetrimaran's Grassroot Film Company[19]. He was also seen in the 2018 black comedy Odu Raja Odu[20][21] and in director Iyanthira's short film Adaiyalam, released by Film Companion South. [22]
