The Purge 5 is an upcoming film directed by Everardo Gout in The Purge franchise.

Production

In an interview with Scream, The Purge television series show runner Thomas Kelly stated that a heist film set on Purge Night has been considered.

In October 2018, Purge creator James DeMonaco stated that the fifth film will be the last in the series.

"I think I'm going to write it," Monaco said. "I think it's a great way to end it all. We want to end it all, I think, in this one, and I'm very excited. When I came up with the idea and pitched it to everybody, they seemed psyched, and I think it will be a really cool ending, how we take this one home."

It was announced that Everardo Gout will direct the film.

Casting

In October 2019, Ana de la Reguera was casted as the film's female lead. In November 2019, Tenoch Huerta was casted as the male lead, and Will Patton and Cassidy Freeman were casted in unknown roles. In January 2020, Leven Rambin was casted in the film.

Release

The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 10, 2020, by Universal Pictures.
